- -- April - last edit Dec 02, 2003.
- She edited a page in July. She's probably busy with her own wiki project (see her user page.)
- 168... blanked his user page and was presumed to have left on March 7 2004 following disputes arising from the handling of "subvandalism" (see e.g. DNA)
- Abigail-II, left 13 June 2004, blanked talk page and left message on Village Pump, explaining that too many people were deleting material without discussion on talk pages.
- Archivist last edited 3 February 2004.
- Ark30inf left on October 24 2003 saying "I have found that if you are not here to do battle then nobody will listen to you. Thats not what I am about." He requested de-adminship and the deletion of his user page on 22 February 2004. "I then returned in late 2004 and tried to stick to just editing Arkansas articles to avoid stupid conflicts. Its an area that nobody appeared interested in at all. Then I got jumped on for the way I categorized my articles and all of them reverted before I even was given an opportunity to discuss the way I categorized my articles. I stepped on someone's pet peeve and they didn't feel like waiting to hear what I had to say. It was somehow URGENT to revert all the Arkansas categorization for some reason. Screw it. Thats my LAST attempt at Wikipedia."
- Brandon.irwin left on July 23, 2004, saying he felt that the project was fraught too much with errors and inconsistencies.
- Corvus13 "Fine. I give up. Delete everything I've ever written. There appears to be some personal thing here where if you're not part of the clique, you're not welcome. Goodbye."
- Daniel Quinlan left without warning on December 16th 2003 after becoming convinced that the NPOV policy does not work.

- Jacobgreenbaum last contributed 24 August 2003
- Jazz77 - last edit Aug 31, 2003.
- Jennifer, last contributed 3 April 2003
- JHK - last edited 4 Nov 2003; parting words: " Every time I come back, it's the same old stuff, the same old tired people trying to push their agenda...Over the past few days (August 2002)...I feel that my integrity has been questioned by a group of people who refuse to provide even the least amount of information about themselves. If it's not any fun, and the dread of finding out what the next day brings is much more evident than any emotional or intellectual reward, I see no reason to spend my time here.
- Jnc disappeared on March 26 2004 without saying why. !!!(Actually he dropped in today 4 Sep 2004)!!!
- I wasn't upset at anyone or anything like that; it was just a combo of i) being stressed out in my real-world life, and ii) having overloaded on Wiki-editing, so I just took a break. I wasn't reading my Talk: page, but that's why I list my email contact on my User: page. Trust me, if I had decided to bail for some reason, I'd have definitely said why! So if I go silent again in the future, don't read too much into it. Noel 08:00, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Jor - left
- Jose Ramos - last edit 23 Mar 2004, not known why
- Jumaca - last edit on 11 Sep 2003. From what I gather from his (her?) talk page, he (she?) was interested in topics from Colombia, although he did very little contributions and none to those topics. --Fibonacci 21:28, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- LA2 left the Wikipedia project on May 21, 2001 after a disagreement with LMS on whether Wikipedia is a dictionary or not, and whether the distinction between an encyclopedia and a dictionary is even a useful one. He then did nothing for a long while, and finally on October 1, 2001 opened his own shop (in Swedish) at http://susning.nu/ using a slightly different policy. He is now a valued contributor to the international and wikipedia mailing lists.

- Very sad. Notheruser was a great contributer. Ilyanep 17:00, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)
- Optim: Administrator and Bureaucrat. Missed since 19:00 PM (UTC), March 6, 2004. Optim came to Wikipedia in 2003 because he wanted to help with the creation of free educational material. He started 115 new articles and contributed more than 19 photos he took using his digital camera. He decided to leave because he felt fed up with some particular Wikipedians. He wishes to everyone Good Luck and PEACE PROFOUND. Optim 19:08, 6 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- He blocked himself for a period of one year. We'll be very lucky to have him back, whenever he decides its worth it. Like all of us, he has a lot of things to do, and when he tallied up the stresses and satisfactions... The stress-o-meter was a multiple of the satisfaction meter :( Let's try to make this profoundly beneficial contributor feel as welcome and happy as possible, if and when he returns. Sam Spade 04:03, 8 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- Orcalover - Last edit: December 19, 2003

- Scipius - last contributed 29 June 2003.

See also Wikipedia drop-outs for some more detail on some past "drop-outs" and Wikistress for some suggestions on how to avoid burning out and needing to leave in the first place.
