George Stepanek is a software developer and team leader at Unisys New Zealand. He has an M.A. from the University of Cambridge, and has gained certification as an architect in both J2EE and .NET.
George is the author of Why Software Projects Fail (and how to make them succeed) [forthcoming]. This is the first book to analyse and address the problems that project management's best practices cause in software development projects. It shows how to integrate agile methodologies with project management to resolve these problems.
He lives in Oranga, a suburb of Auckland, with his cute but attention-seeking girlfriend, Erica, and his cute but attention-seeking Silver Abyssinian cat, Hermes. His interests include weight training, Go, photography and travel.
Noting the paucity of articles relating to weight training, he is currently rewriting the weight training article and contributing articles about Body for Life, dumbbells, barbells, the Smith machine, the cable machine, the leg press and overtraining. He gently asks other editors to remember that perfection is not required.
He likes unusual articles, and has been known to VfD rescue ones that piqued his interest, e.g. Thursday October Christian.
"Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to remove." [Antoine de Saint-Exupery]
