My name is James, and I have been a Wikipedian since February 13, 2004. I have been an admin since May 11, 2004.

I'm also a candidate for the Arbitration Committee election currently being held: see my candidate statement, in which I explain my opposition to some of the current tendencies of the Arbitration Committee's rulings. In short, I think that as a community we've drifted away from the principles of civility and WikiLove, focusing on people's mistakes and not on all the good work they do in between. A friendly and forgiving community is, I believe, essential to the task of properly building this encyclopedia.

Here's a list of the articles I've started. Some were mere stubs at the time of creation, and some still are stubs (maybe even a substub or two). Others I'm more proud of. I'm equally proud of some articles to which I've contributed substantially but didn't create, and maybe I'll get around to listing some of those in the future as well.
