I'm just some random guy. I dream of one day making a low-bandwidth Wikipedia interface usable from a handheld HTML browser, such as Blazer on a palmOne device, but in all likelihood I am too lazy ever to do this.
My greatest claim to fame is that, years ago, I wrote the Forth version of the 99 Bottles program. The email address listed in the comment of that program is way out of date. Try emailing me through Wikipedia instead.
I'm politically liberal—for an American, mostly out of an overriding concern for civil liberties and egalitarianism. I would probably be considered moderate in most of Europe, but were I a European citizen, I imagine I would vote for center-left parties out of a paralyzing fear of religious kooks. In fact, in general I feel like less of a cultural alien in the U.K. than in the U.S. despite having lived here all my life. The U.S. seems to be stumbling blindly toward aristocratic rule while the U.K. is moving consciously away from it.
I find it wearying to get involved in revert wars with the handful of left-wing cranks who insist on abusing this encyclopedia to push their opinions and spurious allegations against people they (and incidentally I) dislike. I wish I could say the right wing was as bad or worse, but apparently they aren't. (Not on Wikipedia, at least. I guess they have enough mischief to make in the news media.)
Still, the system works.
